With a heap of TV's now being sold with full 1080p resolution, is there any
plans to broadcast in 1080p in the future ?

Sonme shows on TED are in 1080.

To display, your TV should specify "FULL HD", HD specification alone won't
cut it insofar maximum technical potential, particularly per advice if you
are to use Blue Ray or HD DVD.

Regardless, Australia has stuffed up its 'digital' introduction, naturally,
but thats another matter.

Did you even bother to read the subject before posting? Obviously not.
Yes, all 3 commercial DO broadcast in 1080i and have done so for quite
some time, but NONE of them broadcast in 1080p since that is not an
officially supported broadcast format since it requires significantly
more bitrate over 1080i for little gain.

I'm sure one day 1080p will become SD, 2160p will be HD, and 4320i will
become FullHD.
This will happen once 1080p TV's saturate the market, and technology
advances will enable higher resolutions to be pumped through current
bandwith's.
Don't ask me when this will happen though.

When do you think that this will happen?

When the electronic charge diminishes to half its present value...
